WSLg¶
WSLg (Windows Subsystem for Linux GUI) is the feature within the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL 2) that enables the execution of graphical Linux applications on Windows.^[600-developer-tools-windows-install-wslg.md]
Installation and Setup¶
To utilize WSLg and install graphical programs, users must first update the package lists and upgrade the existing packages within the WSL environment.^[600-developer-tools-windows-install-wslg.md] Following this, graphical applications—such as gedit, the default text editor for the GNOME desktop environment—can be installed directly via the package manager.^[600-developer-tools-windows-install-wslg.md]
